The Role… As the Head of Onsite Video , you will lead the creation, editing and development of editorial video across some of the UK’s most recognisable media brands, including ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Country Living, Women’s Health and Good Housekeeping . Working as part of Hearst UK’s central Video team, you’ll shape how video supports our digital journalism — helping our articles work harder, engaging audiences and making our content more useful, compelling and distinctive. This is an onsite-only video role , focused specifically on video created to support editorial articles. You’ll oversee a varied mix of content and pace, from fast-turnaround “today for today” coverage and timely videos around trends and seasonal moments, to evergreen content designed to remain useful and engaging over a much longer period. You’ll bring strong editorial judgement to every piece of content, deciding how each story should work in video and ensuring the right format, pace, structure and treatment is used for the subject, audience and publishing moment.

You’ll remain hands-on in the work, editing content yourself while setting a high creative and editorial standard for onsite video across the business. A key part of the role is working closely with brand editorial teams to make video a more effective part of the editorial process. You’ll help identify where video can add genuine value to high-traffic articles, improve how content is planned and commissioned, and advise senior stakeholders on what will work for their audiences and brands. You’ll also use performance data to understand what is working, communicate insights and turn them into practical recommendations for future commissioning and editing. You’ll be confident challenging briefs, backing your editorial judgement and explaining where video will…and won’t, add value. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced video professional who combines excellent editing skills with strong editorial instincts, commercial awareness and the ability to influence teams across a large portfolio of brands. You’ll be organised, collaborative and comfortable managing multiple priorities, while bringing structure, consistency and ambition to how Hearst approaches onsite video.
