Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news. KENS 5's morning lifestyle show, Great Day SA, is looking for a highly motivated, creative, and dynamic Multi-Skilled Journalist to join our team. We are seeking a storyteller who can shoot, write, edit, and deliver engaging content both on-air and across digital platforms. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for lifestyle storytelling, a strong visual eye, and the ability to generate fresh, compelling content independently. You should be comfortable behind the camera, and in front of the camera conducting live and recorded interviews. If you're a creative journalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves bringing exciting stories to life, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities Shoot, write, edit, and produce original lifestyle content for broadcast and digital platforms. Use the latest photography and editing tools, including Adobe Premiere, to create engaging and visually compelling stories. Develop unique, shareable content that resonates with television and social media audiences. Conduct LIVE and recorded interviews for the show, both in-studio and in the field. Pre-produce, shoot, and edit feature stories and lifestyle segments. Write compelling scripts and create content that informs, entertains, and connects with viewers. Edit b-roll, teases, promotional elements, and show content as assigned. Research story ideas and regularly pitch creative, original content to the Executive Producer. Attend editorial meetings, contribute story ideas, and content strategies. Build and maintain relationships with sources, community partners, and potential guests. Post content to social media platforms, including videos, photos, stories, and promotional content as assigned. Use social media, digital tools, and audience trends to research, discover, and distribute content.

Monitor trends and identify opportunities for timely and relevant lifestyle coverage. Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities 1-3 years of television news, lifestyle, or content production experience preferred. This is not an entry-level position. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, Broadcasting, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience. Strong photography, editing, and storytelling skills. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere and modern content creation tools. Comfortable appearing on camera and conducting live interviews. Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling scripts and digital content. Proven ability to generate creative story ideas and develop content independently. Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and take ownership of projects from concept to completion. Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital audience engagement. Experience creating and posting content across multiple social media platforms. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a collaborative team mindset. Ability to adapt quickly and solve problems in a LIVE production environment.

Understanding of professional journalism ethics and standards. Must be dependable, flexible, and reliable. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to and from assignment locations.
