Compensation: $71,953 - $86,344 per year Position Summary: YourClassical is seeking a National Host/Producer to engage listeners through the power of Classical music and strong storytelling during regular evening air shifts. They will work with one of the strongest broadcasting teams in the country, providing round-the-clock classical music and companionship to over 1.6 million listeners weekly. Classical 24™ has a deep playlist programmed from one of the country’s largest broadcast music libraries. This position also requires strong audio production skills, including some knowledge of Pro Tools. Must be willing to relocate. Classical 24™ is produced and distributed by American Public Media. Position Responsibility: Perform regular 7 pm-Midnight air shifts Operate the broadcast board and all studio equipment in live and voice-tracked settings Conduct in-depth research for preparation in commentary, announcing, and scripting content Create content that flows seamlessly while meeting hard time posts within each hour of music Troubleshoot technical and on-air issues relating to air shift to maintain the integrity of the national service Excellent pronunciation of classical music names and terms Participate in the promotion of YourClassical, including possible public appearances, multichannel content and on-air fundraising activities Create and produce special broadcast and multichannel content as assigned Prepare for and interview occasional guests on multichannel platforms To uphold the organizational values Perform other duties as assigned or requested Be receptive to and apply constructive feedback and talent coaching Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Minimum 3 years of professional live on-air radio hosting or equivalent experience Some audio editing required Preferred experience: Minimum 3 years’ production experience On-camera video hosting Required
