Duties/Responsible for (but not limited to) the following: * Analyze weather data and prepare detailed and engaging weather forecasts * Generate creative and engaging, content-driven live shots * Familiarity with the WSI weather system and software is a plus * Ability to drive long-form severe weather/event coverage solo or in a team setting both in the studio and in the field * Ability to multi-task, handle breaking news and breaking weather, and adapt to rapidly changing events * Cover other meteorologists' shifts as assigned, as well as flexibility to cover shifts during severe weather or other breaking news events * Post daily stories to our digital platforms and social media, including online weather discussions to explain complex weather phenomena in an easy-to-understand format * Be actively involved on the station's social media platforms and responsive to viewer inquiries * Represent Alaska's News Source at community and station-sponsored events, including school presentations and station tours * Work closely with the Chief Meteorologist, news management, and newscast producers * As a reporter, you are responsible for shooting, writing, and editing stories for newscasts and our digital platforms
