Salary - £40,000-£45,000 - Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise.
The Role… As the Event Production Manager (AV & Video), you will lead the technical production behind Hearst UK’s live events, ensuring every experience is delivered to the highest standard. Combining technical expertise with creative thinking, you’ll oversee everything from audiovisual planning and live event delivery to social-first video capture, creating seamless productions that engage audiences both in the room and online. You’ll take ownership of The Randolph – House of Hearst’s dedicated social and events hub – managing its audiovisual infrastructure and ensuring it remains a best-in-class venue for live events, productions and broadcasts. You’ll lead a trusted network of freelance AV specialists, oversee the delivery of technical production across Hearst’s event portfolio, and produce high-quality video content that extends the reach of our events across social channels. Working closely with editorial, commercial and events teams, you’ll help create world-class experiences that showcase our iconic brands and deliver exceptional results for our audiences and partners. Responsibilities AV Operations: Oversee all audiovisual setup, testing, and live execution for events hosted in The Randolph , ensuring flawless delivery across lighting, sound, and video. Equipment Management: Maintain, service, and track all AV equipment, ensuring it remains in optimal working order and compliant with internal safety and quality standards. Freelancer Management: Recruit, train, and oversee a roster of AV freelancers and operators to flex capacity during peak periods or off-site events. Social Video Capture: Manage and deliver all social video output from events (both internal and external), ensuring on-brand production that meets creative and paid partnership requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Events and Social teams to plan, execute, and deliver AV and video elements aligned with brand priorities. Workflow & Quality Control: Create efficient pre- and post-event workflows for AV and video requests, ensuring consistent quality and rapid turnaround. Budget & Resourcing: Support cost tracking and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through better use of in-house resources.
What We’re Looking For Proven experience managing audiovisual production for live, hybrid or broadcast events within corporate, brand, editorial or agency environments. Strong technical expertise across AV systems, including lighting, audio, projection, livestreaming and event production technology. Experience capturing and producing social-first video content using professional cameras and mobile devices, with a strong understanding of platform-native storytelling across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and emerging channels. Confident leading, coaching and coordinating freelance AV specialists and junior team members, while managing external production partners in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Experience building and managing a trusted freelance network to provide additional production support during peak periods and large-scale events. Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple events and competing priorities simultaneously. A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to troubleshoot technical challenges and make decisions under pressure.
A strong understanding of brand standards, commercial partnership requirements and the importance of delivering high-quality, brand-safe content across every event and production.
